Irving Piken was born in Brooklyn, New York, United States on 20 December 1908. He has been a life-long Dodgers fan having watched his first game at the age of 8. His favorite player was Jackie Robinson. In New York, Piken worked in finance as a lawyer. He moved to California in 1977, where he has lived in Laguna Woods Village for 41 years. Piken has two children, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Following the death of Lester Townsend on 22 October 2019, Irving Piken became the second-oldest known living man in the USA, and following the death of CP Crawford on 23 November 2019, he became the oldest known living man in the USA.
In Dec. 2019, Irving Piken celebrated his 111th birthday.
