Howard “Kempy” Omedius Kemp (10 January 1908? – 28 October 2018) was a Bahamian supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). If his claimed age were true, he would have been the oldest man to ever die in the Bahamas.
Kemp claimed to have been born in Nassau, New Providence, Bahamas, on 10 January 1908. He married Rhoda McKinney. Kemp had 4 children: two sons (Bishop Dexter Kemp and Howard Omedius Kemp Jr.) and two daughters (Lucinda Kemp Allen and Icelyn Kemp). Kemp celebrated his claimed 110th birthday in January 2018. He is currently only known supercentenarian claimant from the Bahamas.
Kemp died in Mason Bay, Acklins, Bahamas, on 28 October 2018, at the claimed age of 110 years, 291 days. At the time of his death, he had 10 grandsons and 14 granddaughters, 111 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service for Kemp was held on 24 November 2018 at Cooper’s Terrace Cathedral, Cooper’s Terrace, Kemp Road, Nassau.
