Hermina Josephine Wahlin (née Johnson; 26 November 1904 – 18 June 2015) was an American supercentenarian whose age is currently pending by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). She was one of the oldest known people in the US state of Minnesota at the time of her death.


Hermina Wahlin was born in a seven bedroom house her father built in 1898, in Lund Township, Douglas County, Minnesota, USA on 26 November 1904. Her parents were Nels Johnson and Nella (née Erickson) Johnson. She had eight siblings: six sisters and two brothers. She attended Rural School District #35 in Lund Township then continued high school in Bemidji, and after her schooling she worked in a beauty shop in Minneapolis.

She married David Wahlin were married on 26 August 1926 at her parents' home. The couple had two daughters: Shirley Hart and DeeLores Wahlin. They lived in Minneapolis for a while, then farmed by Evansville, and then traveled for five years while David worked with an oil company pipeline.

They returned to Evansville where they owned and operated Wahlin’s Grocery for several years before moving to Las Vegas, Nevada where they managed apartment buildings. They retired back to Evansville where Hermina was a funeral home receptionist and an active member with Our Saviors Lutheran Church.

David died in 1998 at the age of 95 years, after 71 years of marriage. She lived on her own in an apartment until age 103 when moved to Evansville Care Center.

Hermina Wahlin died in Evansville, Douglas County, Minnesota, USA on 18 June 2015 at the age of 110 years, 204 days. She is survived by two daughters Shirley Hart and DeeLores Wahlin, three granddaughters, two grandsons, four great-granddaughters, two great-great grandchildren and numerous relatives.
