Hermina Dunz (24 February 1898 – 14 June 2008) was an Austrian supercentenarian who was the oldest living person in Austria at the time of her death in 2008, at the age of 110.[1]
Dunz was born on 24 February 1898 in the city of Zagreb, which at the time was located in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, but is currently the capital city of Croatia. She was the oldest of six children.
Dunz worked as a nanny in Hungary, Italy and the former Czechoslovakia for many years, before she attended kindergarten school and moved to Leibnitz and then to Graz. She was married but the couple had no children. Her husband died after 22 years of marriage.
Dunz lived independently for most of her life, only moving to a retirement home when she was 101 years old. Following the death of 108-year old Anna Rudicky of Vienna on 15 February 2006, Hermina Dunz, aged 107, became the oldest living person in Austria. She celebrated her 110th birthday with a party in the city of Graz, Austria, in February 2008. Her party was attended by Graz Mayor Siegfried Nagl.
