|Herman Guntherberg Hoax|
Photos of Francis Morris, aged 100, were falsely purported to be that of "Herman Gutherberg".
Herman Guntherberg (born 20 April 1889?) is a widely circulated internet longevity hoax.
Originally published on World News Daily Report, a satirical website, the article facetiously describes the story of a 128-year-old German-born man living in Argentina who claims to be Adolf Hitler. The article uses photographs of a 100-year-old British man named Francis Morris, who gained media attention for being one of the oldest drivers in the United Kingdom. Despite the website stating on its homepage that "all characters appearing in the articles in this website – even those based on real people – are entirely fictional and any resemblance between them and any persons, living, dead, or undead is purely a miracle," the story was widely circulated as if it were true, and quickly became an internet hoax.
