Henry Tseng (12 July 1907 – 27 February 2019) was a Japanese-American supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). At the time of his death, he was the oldest known living man in the United States from the death of 112-year-old Richard Overton on 27 December 2018.

Biography

Henry Tseng was born on 12 July 1907 in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. At some point in his life, he moved to Shanghai, and then Hong Kong, where he worked as an entrepreneur. He moved to Los Angeles with his wife in 1975. He joined the YMCA in 1978.

Tseng lived a very active lifestyle. In his youth, he used to enjoy swimming and playing outdoor sports. In the 1950s, he was taught how to do yoga by a yoga master in Hong Kong. He was able to perform various yoga positions (such as shoulder stands) even in his 90s. Up until age 102, he would participate in an adult fitness classes three times a week. At age 111, he did exercises half an hour every day.

Tseng had a daughter, a grandson, and two great-grandchildren. His wife, Annie, passed away in 2013 at the age of 100.

Henry Tseng passed away in the UCLA Ronald Reagan hospital in Los Angeles, California on 27 February 2019 at the age of 111 years, 230 days. After his death, C.P. Crawford became the oldest living man in the USA and the last surviving man in the USA born in 1907.
