Helen Woods (née Tramp; 25 January 1904 – 19 June 2014) was an American supercentenarian whose age is currently pending by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). She was one of the oldest known people in the US state of Missouri at the time of her death.
Biography
Helen Woods was born in St. Joseph, Missouri, USA on 25 January 1904, the only child of Charles Tramp (1872–1965) and Anna (née Burgess) Tramp (1880–1940).
Following her graduation from Benton High School in 1922, Helen worked as a bookkeeper for Lamborn, Murray and Davis Livestock Commission Company. She retired in 1968 after 40 years of service.
She married Henry Edwin Woods on 30 July 1930 in Chicago, Illinois. The couple had no children. Henry died on 19 June 1958.
She drove a car until she was 93. She moved to Saxton Woods Care Center in 2002. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, the Saxton Century Club and the Social Order of the Beauceant.
Helen Woods died in St. Joseph, Missouri, USA on 19 June 2014 at the age of 110 years, 145 days. She is survived by her nieces Betty Reynolds and Deanna Gibson, her caregiver and neighbor Joyce Edwards and several nieces and nephews.
