Hazel Gates (née Tully; 6 April 1905 – 23 December 2017) was an American supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group.

Biography

Gates was born to Harry Lee and Lucy McIntosh Tully, in Charleston, West Virginia, on 6 April 1905. She had three siblings. She married Louis "Fritz" Gates and had one child, Norma Hobbs.

Gates worked for the Columbia Gas Company for over thirty years. For many years after her retirement, she served as a volunteer at the Women and Children's Hospital in Charleston. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and quilting. She reportedly remained active both mentally and physically until the end of her life.

Gates died in Houston, Texas, on 23 December 2017 at the age of 112 years, 261 days.
