Hallie Mae "Pie" Barnes (née Wade; formely Bussey; 10 July 1901 – 26 January 2013) was an American supercentenarian who is currently pending by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). She was one of the oldest known living people in Kentucky when she died.

Biography[]

Hallie Mae Barnes was born in Eminence, Kentucky, USA on 10 July 1901. Her parents were Will Wade and Jimmie Lou Wade.

She held various jobs as a Nanny and was a former employee in the school lunch room for the Louisville Board of Education. During World War II, she worked at the Army Depot Quartermaster in Indiana where parachutes were fabricated.

She married Marvin Bussey. The couple had two children: James Theodore Bussey (c.1919–1948) and George Shelbourne Bussey (1920–2018).

She married George Barnes in Jeffersonville, Indiana on 21 December 1930. She was a member of Hill Street Baptist Church.

Hallie Mae Barnes died in Louisville, Kentucky, USA on 26 January 2013 at the age of 111 years, 200 days. She was survived by one son George S. Bussey; two granddaughters Connie B. Cosby and Jill Bussey-Harris; and a host of relatives and friends.
