Gladys Good was born on 12 March 1900 in Burslem, Staffordshire, England to William Wilberforce Good and Marion (née Alcock) Good. She never married nor had children. In 1919, she started teaching at Packmoor Infant School in Staffordshire and continued teaching there for 42 years until she retired in 1961.

Shortly after retiring, Gladys moved to Deganwy in north Wales with her mother Marion, who grew up in the area. At the age of 93, Gladys was run over by a car but was eventually able to walk again, amazing her physiotherapist. Gladys lived in her own home until the age of 110, when she moved into the High Pastures Nursing Home in Deganwy.
