Biography

Giovanni Quarisa was born in Pieve del Grappa, Veneto, Italy on 24 August 1909. He worked as a policeman. He was married and had at least two children, daughters Vilma and Mirella.

Quarisa enlisted in the Italian army in 1929. In 1941, he went to fight in World War II, fighting in Spalato, and spending the years of 1943-45 as a prisoner in Dubrovnik (Independent Croatian State, now in Croatia). After the war finished, he walked back to Italy.
