Gerda Ellida Morton (née Jonsson; 11 January 1890 – 29 January 2000) was a validated Swedish-American supercentenarian.
Biography[]
Gerda Morton was born as Gerda Jonsson in Osby, Skane, Sweden on 11 January 1890. She emigrated to United States in 1904, when she came to live with family members in Chicago. She married a Swedish man named Arvid Morton in 1916. The year after, She gave birth to twin girls. One of them died in a flu epidemic. She became a widow in 1961 and subsequently moved to Milwaukee to live with her daughter.
Morton died in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA, on 29 January 2000 at the age of 110 years, 18 days.
