Georg Jensen (born 14 June 1906) is a Danish centenarian who is, at the age of 117 years, 309 days, the oldest living man in Denmark and the oldest man in the history of Denmark as well as one of the only two known Danish men to have lived to the age of 109.

Biography

Georg Ingwersen Jensen was born on 14 June 1906 in Lyngby. His father was the chamber lackey for the King Christian X of Denmark and he has a brother Henning and sister Esther, both of whom he has outlived. He currently lives in a senior residence in Skovlunde. He faces hearing problems and requires an interpreter. He has a sharp memory, being able to have memory of his childhood upto about 100 years ago. According to his interpreter who is also his home help, he is very talkative and happy. On his 109th birthday, his daughter visited him and some of his grandchildren. He also has memories of the days of World War I. As of his 109th birthday, he takes a vitamin pill a day.

On 18 November 2015, Jensen broke the record for oldest Danish man ever, surpassing Johannes W. Hansen's age of 109 years, 156 days.

He has been the oldest Danish man since the death of 108-year-old Aage Nielsen on 6 February 2013.

He is not only the oldest man in Denmark, but in the whole Nordic region as well. Carl Wilhelm Falck of Norway was born on 27 May 1907, Tore Eriksson of Sweden was born on 5 March 1908, Toivo Rantala of Finland was born on 25 May 1908 and Georg Ólafsson of Iceland was born on 26 March 1909.
