His father was the chamber lackey for the King Christian X of Denmark and he has a brother Henning and sister Esther, both of whom he has outlived. He lived in a senior residence in Skovlunde until his death. He faced hearing problems and required an interpreter. He had a sharp memory, being able to have memories of his childhood up to about 100 years ago. According to his interpreter, who was also his home help, he was very talkative and happy. On his 109th birthday, his daughter visited him and some of his grandchildren. He also had memories of the days of World War I. Georg Ingwersen Jensen (14 June 1906 – 15 May 2016) was a Danish centenarian who was, at the time of his death, the oldest living man in Denmark and the Nordic region, and the oldest man ever to die in Denmark.

Georg Ingwersen Jensen was born in Kgs. Lyngby, Hovedstaden, Denmark, on 14 June 1906. His father was the chamber lackey for the King Christian X of Denmark and he has a brother Henning and sister Esther, both of whom he has outlived. He lived in a senior residence in Skovlunde until his death. He faced hearing problems and required an interpreter. He had a sharp memory, being able to have memories of his childhood up to about 100 years ago. According to his interpreter, who was also his home help, he was very talkative and happy. On 18 November 2015, Jensen broke the record for oldest Danish man ever (excluding emigrants), surpassing Johannes W. Hansen's age of 109 years, 156 days.
He had been the oldest Danish man since the death of 108-year-old Aage Nielsen on 6 February 2013. After his death, Holger Hartmann, born on 29 May 1909, became Denmark's oldest man.
He was not only the oldest man in Denmark, but in the whole Nordic region as well. Carl Falck of Norway was born on 27 May 1907, Carl Mattsson of Sweden was born on 7 March 1908, Toivo Rantala of Finland was born on 25 May 1908, and Georg Olafsson of Iceland was born on 26 March 1909.
