Frieda Elisabeth Staaf (née Wemhoner; 20 October 1893 – 2 August 2005) was an American supercentenarian whose age has been validated by the Gerontology Research Group.
She was born as Frieda Elisabeth Wemhoner on 20 October 1893 in Tioga, Illinois, the daughter of Henry Wemhoner and Charlotte (née Mund) Wemhoner. She married Albert Staaf on 25 June 1919. The couple had 2 children: 1 son and 1 daughter. Her husband died in 1976.
There was also a history of longevity in her family: her maternal grandfather lived to be 95, her sister Carolina Wood lived to be 101, her sister Rebecca Wemhoner lived to be 103, her cousin Carl Heinecke lived to be 92, her first cousin once removed Carl Beeler lived to be 90.
She died in Montebello Healthcare Center, Hamilton, Illinois on 2 August 2005 at the age of 111 years, 286 days.
