Frantiska Novotna was born on 19 September 1897. She married and raised two sons and a daughter. At the time of her 108th birthday, only one son Oldrich, aged 84, lived. She spent her entire life in Nove Syrovice [Czech: Nové Syrovice], Vysocina county. Novotna became the oldest living person in the Czech Republic after the death of Marie Berankova on 5 Feb 2005.
