Biography[]

Saburo Sueto was born in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan on 12 September 1911. He worked at Hiratsuka factory, managed by Yokohama Rubber Company. He had five children, who gave him seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren (as of September 2021).

Following the death of 109-year-old Yushiro Sato between 1 January and 31 March 2020, Sueto became the oldest known living man in Kanagawa Prefecture. In September 2021, he celebrated his 110th birthday.

On 30 August 2022, Saburo Sueto's status went into limbo, as the oldest living man in Hiratsuka was reported to be 104 instead of 110 years old.[1] It was later determined that he died in November 2021 (exact date unknown), at the age of 110 years, 50-79 days.[2] At the time of his death, he was the fifth-oldest known living man in Japan (after Mikizo Ueda, Shigeru Nakamura, Shiro Moriyama, and Tetsuo Shinya).
