Sofia Castillo Sanchez (Spanish: Sofía Castillo Sánchez; 1 October 1910 – 27 August 2021) was a Mexican supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Castillo Sanchez was born in Pachuca de Soto, Hidalgo, Mexico, on 1 October 1910. She had 6 children (2 daughters and 4 sons). She celebrated her 110th birthday in October 2020. At that time, she had 23 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
On 3 April 2021, aged 110, Castillo Sanchez got vaccinated against COVID-19, making her one of the oldest people to receive the vaccine.
Castillo Sanchez died in Mexico City, Mexico on 27 August 2021 at the age of 110 years, 330 days.
