Megiri Nai (Japanese: 内メギリ; 27 January 1909 – October 2019) was a Japanese supercentenarian who is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography
Megiri Nai claimed to have been born in Kametoku, Kagoshima, Japan, on 27 January 1909. Her husband passed away 29 years prior to her 110th birthday. They had 9 children (3 sons and 6 daughters). She had no major illnesses except the inguinal hernia operation at age 101.
Nai lived with her son Yasuo on the island of Tokunoshima, Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan. She haved more than 100 descendants.
Nai was the third supercentenarian claimant, along with Shigechiyo Izumi (120?) and Kamato Hongo (116?), from the Tokunoshima Island. The validated supercentenarian from the island was Toshi Horiya.
Megiri Nai passed away in Tokunoshima, Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan in October 2019 at the age of 110.
