Febronio Leandro da Silva (23 June 1911 – 18 September 2021) was a Brazilian supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).

Biography[]

Febronio Leandro da Silva was born in Brazil to João Leandro da Silva and Januaria Maria de Conceicao on 23 June 1911. He was the eldest child of 5 siblings, all of whom he outlived. Together with his wife, he had a total of 9 children (4 living as of June 2020), 26 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great grandchildren.

Every morning for breakfast, da Silva would eat the same thing, which included a boiled egg, a cup of porridge, and a piece of cake with tea. His family said he was never a picky eater, and that his favorite foods included bananas, papayas, and oranges. He enjoyed eating sweets.

In June 2020, he celebrated his 109th birthday, and it was reported that at this time he could still walk with the help of a cane, although he had difficulty.

In March 2021 at the age of 109, he received his second dose of the CoronaVac Covid-19 vaccine. He said that the coronavirus lockdowns made him sad because he did not get to visit with people as much as he liked and said that he preferred a "house full of people".

In June 2021, he celebrated his 110th birthday.
