She may have been the fourth-oldest known person in Canada at the time of her death, behind Julie Winnefred Bertrand, Julia Houde, and Jennie Fitzgerald.

Eunice Watchorn was born Eunice Downing on 25 December 1895 in Harbour Grace, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada to parents Uriah and Frances (née Reid) Downing, who were married in 1887. Her birth was registered in March 1896. She married twice, firstly to English-born Reginald Dickinson in Nova Scotia on 24 September 1918, with whom she had two children: David and Douglas. The family later moved to Toronto, Ontario. Reginald passed away in 1927 after just nine years of marriage. Eunice later remarried to a man with the surname Watchorn.

Watchorn’s eldest son David Dickinson passed away at the age of 65. One of her sisters died in 2001 aged 103, and a brother died when he was 98. At the age of 108, Watchorn could still remember her youth in great detail, and expressed a desire to go back to Newfoundland.

Eunice Watchorn passed away on 15 October 2006 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada at the age of 110 years, 294 days. She may have been the oldest person in Ontario at the time of her death.
