Callie Est(h)er Pennington (née Jones; 20 June 1910 – 26 August 2020) was an American supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography
Pennington was born in Ashe County, North Carolina, United States, on 20 June 1910. Her parents were John and Sallie Gilley Jones. She married Thomas Clint Pennington (1907–1959). They had at least 9 children: Fredrick Raymond (1931–2009), Charlie (1933–1935), Spencer (1934–2018), Albert (1937–1937), Opal Magaline Myers (1939–2007), Joseph H. (1942–2008), Maggie Mortez, Walter and Carlos. She attended Clifton Baptist Church and was baptized at the age of 98.
Pennington celebrated her 110th birthday in June 2020. At the time of death, she had 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 20 great-great-grandchildren.
Pennington died in West Jefferson, Ashe County, North Carolina, United States, on 26 August 2020, at the age of 110 years, 67 days.
