Ernst Ake Blixt (8 May 1913 – ‎18‎ ‎September‎ ‎2019) was a Swedish centenarian who was the oldest living man in Sweden since the death of Carl Mattsson on 24 July 2019.

Biography

Ernst Åke Blixt was born in Kiruna, Norrbotten County, Sweden on 8 May 1913. In 1936, he began working for SJ (the Swedish rail network) as a deputy, eventually becoming a locomotive driver and inspector before retiring in 1978.

Blixt married a woman named Karin, who died on 26 June 2014. He stopped driving aged 98, and used a walker to move around as a centenarian. He never smoked, and enjoyed home cooking throughout his life.

Aake Blixt died in Lulea, Norrbotten County, Sweden on ‎18‎ ‎September‎ ‎2019, at the age of 106 years, 133 days.
