Elsie Ward (13 January 1903 – 6 November 2013) was a Barbadian-Saint Lucian supercentenarian claimant whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). If validated, she would be the oldest person who ever died in Saint Lucia.
Elsie Ward claimed to have been born in Barbados on 13 January 1903. Her parents were James Christopher Ward and Mary Elizabeth Hall-Ward. She had nine siblings.
She migrated to St. Lucia for work in the early 1940's. She returned to Barbados for shor periods.
She had nine children (four of whom was alive in her 109th birthday). She retired in 1960 from her job as domestic worker.
On her 109th birthday, her last sibling was still alive aged 85. She had 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren living in the USA, UK and St. Lucia. She lived with her son Richard Ward.
Elsie Ward died in Corinth, Saint Lucia on 6 November 2013 at the claimed age of 110 years, 297 days.
