Elias Athanasiades (14 May 1891? - after 25 November 2004) was Turkish-born Greek supercentenarian claimant.

Biography

Elias Athanasiades claimed that he was born in Turkey on 14 May 1891. Later he emigrated to Greece. He came to the notice of the WOP on November 22, 2004 when a Greek couple came to the attention of the Guinness Book of Records concerning a claim on the world’s longest surviving married couple. The original story appeared in the ANA-MPA newspaper, but the article has long since gone[1][2]. Elias Athanasiades passed away after 25 November 2004 at the claimed age of 113 years and 191 days[3].
