Edward Dore Mitchell Anderson (26 May 1902 – 22 March 2011) was a British centenarian who was the oldest man in Britain when he died. He was anonymous up until his death, when his name was revealed.


Edward Anderson was born on 26 May 1902 in the UK. He married a woman named Vick and had five children with her: Alec, Jean, Celia, Madeleine, and Iona. At some point in his life, he became a widower. On 21 June 2010, aged 108, he became the oldest man in the UK, following the death of 110-year-old Stanley Lucas, even though he was anonymous at this time. All five of his children were still alive when he died.

Edward Anderson died on 22 March 2011 in Davenham, Great Malvern, Worcestershire, UK, at the age of 108 years, 300 days. His successor as the UK's oldest man was Thomas Reginald "Reg" Dean (born 4 November 1902). He was cremated on 4 April 2011.
