Edith Louisa Grellier (née Taylor; 17 March 1853 – 10 November 1959) was a British centenarian who was the oldest known living person in the United Kingdom at the time of her death.
Biography
Edith Louisa Taylor was born on 17 March 1853 in Brixton, England to George Taylor and Marianne Leonard. In 1881, she married Harley Grellier. They had seven children: Alice, Gordon, Norman, Bernard, Florence, Cecil and Eva.
Grellier became the oldest living person in the UK following the death of Emma Weeks on 6 February 1959. She died nine months later at the age of 106. Her successor as the oldest British person was Mary Worthington.
