Edith Evaline Erdman (née Smith; 13 February 1903 – 8 September 2015) was an American supercentenarian whose age is pending by the Gerontology Research Group.
Biography
Erdman was born in Long Bottom, Ohio on 13 February 1903. She was one of five children born to Jackson and Ida May Smith. She also had five step-brothers and sisters.
As an adult, Erdman moved to California where she worked in a department store, gift wrapping packages and supervising the shipping department. She was married three times and had two children.
Erdman lived on her own until the age of 100, when she broke her hip. She subsequently moved into a nursing home in Gallipolis, Ohio. She died on 8 September 2015 at the age of 112 years, 207 days.
