Huber was born on 7 December 1905 in Gera as daughter of well known aristocratic families characterized by her mother’s side the "Grand Dukes of Baden" and by her father’s side the Imperial Counts "Gersdorff". Her ancestors participated on forming the German Red Cross. She was diagnosed with poliomyelitis at age 22 what did not impair her intention although she was no longer able to walk and studying chemistry. After graduating in law she worked for a cooperative building society. When she was 14 years old she met her husband called Walther. He was the first man she used to be on a first-name basis. The couple visited many different countries until she was widowed in 1987.

Being 110 she is still living on her own with some help in Karlsruhe. Although she is nearly blind she still enjoys authoring poems; consuming literature and art as well in general.

Edelgard Huber von Gersdorff (née von Gersdorff; born 7 December 1905) is a German supercentenarian who is, at the age of 118 years, 133 days, currently Germany's second-oldest living person behind Gustav Gerneth. She is currently unverified.
