Dorothy Marlowe (née Watkins) (22 May 1907 – 10 March 2018) was an American supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). At the time of her death, she was the oldest known living person in Utah.

Biography

Dorothy Marlowe was born as Dorothy Watkins in Logan, Utah, USA, on 22 May 1907. Her parents were Mack and Dora (née Nelson) Watkins. She received a teaching certificate from the Agricultural College of Utah (which later became the Utah State University). In 1929, she began teaching home economics in Franklin, Idaho.

On 20 September 1933, she married Dr. Clifford Marlowe and had three children with him: Richard, June and Portia. After their marriage, she settled in Seattle, Washington, where she stopped teaching to focus on raising her children.

After Clifford died, Dorothy went travelling around the world, visiting places such as Europe, Asia, and South America. In 2016, aged 109, she moved back to Logan, Utah, after living in Seattle for 83 years.

Marlowe died in Logan, Utah, on 10 March 2018 at the age of 110 years, 292 days. She was recognised as Utah's oldest person by the Governor's Century Club of Utah.
