Damaris Josephine Bryant (12 May 1909 – 29 April 2020) was a Jamaican-born British supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group.

Biography

Bryant was born in Port Morant, Saint Thomas, Jamaica on 12 May 1909. Her parents were Andrew Bryant and Jemima (née Taylor) Bryant. She moved to the United Kingdom in the 1950s to work as a nurse, and settled in the London Borough of Wandsworth. Since the 1980s she lived in the district of Battersea in Wandsworth.

As well as working as a nurse, Bryant also volunteered for a charity. She reportedly enjoyed watching soap operas on television, and was a big fan of the royal family.

On her 108th birthday, Bryant was visited by Wandsworth mayor Richard Field. She became a supercentenarian in May 2019.

Bryant died in Wandsworth, London, England, UK on 29 April 2020 at the age of 110 years, 353 days.
