Cornelis Jacobus Geurtz (4 May 1902 – 21 August 2012) was a validated Dutch supercentenarian who was the oldest living person in The Netherlands from the death of Geertruida Draaisma until his own death on 21 August 2012 at age 110 years, 109 days.
Biography
Cornelis Geurtz was born in in the municipality of Rotterdam in the province of South Holland, Netherlands, on 4 May 1902. Upon celebrating his 110th birthday in 2012, he became the first Dutch person to reach this age in nearly 4 years, following Johanna Boost-Dalloyaux in 2008. He was the first man since Jan Machiel Reyskens who died on 7 January 1990, to hold the oldest living person in Netherlands title. He is one of the 4 recorded Dutch men to reach age 110 or more. He passed away in Rotterdam, Netherlands, on 21 August 2012 at the age of 110 years, 109 days.[1][2] He is the third oldest Dutch-born man ever, behind Geert Adriaans Boomgaard and Jan Pieter Bos.
