Longevity claimant

Celino Villanueva Jaramillo (25 July 1896? – 18 April 2018) was a Chilean claimant to the World's Oldest Person title.

Biography

Villanueva was reportedly born in 1896, in Rio Bueno, Chile. He has remained single all his life. He reportedly moved to Mehuin, Chile, in 1960 where he lived for the rest of his life. In April 2018, he fell out of bed and suffered a pierced lung, leaving him in a critical condition in hospital. Despite doctors initially being optimistic about his survival chances, he died on 18 April 2018 in a hospital in San Jose de Mariquina, Chile, at the claimed age of 121 years, 267 days.

Age issue

Villanueva celebrated his claimed 121st birthday in July 2017. If true, this would make him more than five years older than the verified male longevity holder, Jiroemon Kimura.
