Caroline Daniel (9 January 1912 – 20 November 2015) was a centenarian from Cook Islands, an overseas territory of Australia.
Biography
Caroline Daniel was born in Mangaia, Cook Islands on 9 January 1912. She became a nurse in Samoa in 1932. During World War II, Caroline was a nurse in Aitutaki, where American soldiers were based. After the war, Caroline and her husband Papa Daniel moved to New Zealand, as jobs on Aitutaki were scarce. Later Caroline moved to Whakatane and became the secretary at a paper mill. She came back to the Cook Islands to help with his cousin Albert Henry election campaign before he came to office in 1965. Caroline Daniel passed away 20 November 2015 in Aitutaki, Cook Islands at the age of 103 years, 311 days.[1] She had nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. Caroline Daniel is currently oldest known woman ever from Cook Islands.
