Berthe Josephine Mourey (née Boiteux; 21 November 1902 – 10 March 2013) was a French supercentenarian whose age has been validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). She was among the top 15 oldest known people in France at the time of her death.
Biography
Berthe Mourey was born Berthe Josephine Boiteux in Perrigny-sur-l'Ognon, Cote-d'Or, France. She married Auguste Mourey on 21 February 1925 aged 22 and had two children with him, one of whom was a daughter called Marie-Louise. Auguste passed away in 1931 after just six years of marriage.
As of her 110th birthday in 2012, Mourey had two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She drank a glass of champagne to celebrate becoming a supercentenarian. In her final years, she lived at home with her daughter.
Mourey passed away on 10 March 2013 at the age of 110 years, 109 days. She was the oldest known person in the French department of Cote-d'Or.
