Bertha Edge (2 May 1907 – 22 May 2017) was a British supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group.
Biography
Bertha Edge was born in 1907 in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, England. She worked in an ammunitions factory during the Second World War, and was married to Levi Edge, a bricklayer. She enjoyed playing bowls.
Edge spent her 100th birthday on a cruise in the Mediterranean. As of 2017, she has a living 91-year-old brother, Cyril, who was in the navy during the war and recently received the Legion d’Honneur medal from France for his service.
Bertha Edge died in Ellesmere Port on 22 May 2017, aged 110 years, 20 days.
