Beneditu Shikwamanga (11 November 1901? - 7 August 2015) was Angolan-born Namibian supercentenarian claimant.

Biography

Beneditu Shikwamanga claimed that he was born in Angola on 11 November 1901 although some family members told that he was born in 1898. He came to Namibia around 1940 from Angola and lived in Omandombe village in the vicinity of Okaku ever since. He was a member of Catholic Church at Akuna, about 7km from his homestead, but his children were members of Okaku ELCIN church. Beneditu Shikwamanga passed away 7 August 2015 at the claimed age of 113 years and 266 days. His death attracted public ire after an embattled Okaku Evangelical Lutheran Church in Namibia (ELCIN) church pastor, Nehemia Sheefeni, denied the family permission to bury him at the village cemetery because he was a Catholic and not a Lutheran[1].
