Astrid Zachrison (née Jonsson [Jönsson]; 15 May 1895 – 15 May 2008) was a Swedish supercentenarian whose age has been validated by the Gerontology Research Group. At the age of 113 years and 0 days, she became the oldest documented person in the history of Sweden after surpassing Elsa Moberg's final age of 112 years, 143 days on 6 October 2007. She is also the second-oldest Nordic-born person ever after Danish-born Christian Mortensen, who died at the age of 115 years and 252 days in 1998. She was one of the last three Swedish people born in the 1800's. After her death, Rut Mikaelsson, 4 years younger than her, became the oldest living person in Sweden.^[1]

Biography

Astrid Zachrison was born on 15 May 1895 in Fliseryd, Kalmar, Sweden to Julius Jonsson (1856–1933) and Eleonora Josefina Amalia (1853–1944). She married Tage Zachrison (1889-1977) in 1928, with whom she had one son, Per-Ivan, who currently lives in Vetlanda at the age of 91.
