Armida Sholar (nee Brunson; 9 August 1905 - 4 April 2017) was an American supercentenarian who is currently unverified. At her passing, Ms. Sholar was believed to be the oldest living person in North Carolina.
Biography
Armida was born in Sumter, South Carolina on 9 August 1905 to Josiah and Armida Moses Brunson. She used to work as a desk clerk at Wesley Long Hospital. In the 1920s, in her late teens, she fell in love and ran away to get married. She married Henry Wiley Sholar on 20 March 1922 and had four children with him: Martha Jenkins, Henry Wiley, Bill and Mike Sholar. Her husband passed away in 1940s at 43. Only her son Bill is alive.
She most recently resided in Greensboro, North Carolina. Armida Sholar passed away on 4 April 2017 at the age of 111 years, 238 days.
