Anna Lois Henderson (5 March 1900 – 1 July 2014) was a validated American supercentenarian.
Biography
Anna Henderson was born to Issac and Jennie Thomas Berrian in Riddleville, Ga in Washington, Georgia, USA on 5 March 1900. She married Rembert Henderson in 1925 and they had nine children. The family resided in North Philadelphia until 1941 and then moved to West Philadelphia. In October 1935, she was one of the original members that marched from 57th and Vine streets to 60th and Callowhill streets and witnessed the proclamation of Holy Temple Church of God and Christ. She was an active member for more than 70 years and cherished her church family. She took her first flight at the age of 95 and thoroughly enjoyed it. She took her first cruise at age 104. At the age of 108, Henderson returned to her hometown of Riddleville.
Anna Henderson died in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, on 1 July 2014, aged 114 years, 118 days, as the oldest verified person to die in 2014. At the time of her death, she had 25 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren and she was the 5th oldest living person in the United States, and the 7th oldest living person in the world. She was also the 100th validated person in history to reach the age of 114 years.
