Ana María Vela Rubio (born 29 October 1901) is a Spanish supercentenarian, who is at the age of 122 years, 172 days, the oldest living person in Spain, the second in Europe after Emma Morano and overall the 9th in the world. She is the oldest living person in Spain following the death of Francisca García Torres on 25 February, 2014.

She is the fourth oldest verified Spanish person ever, and the third oldest Spanish woman ever.

Biography

Ana María Vela Rubio  was born on 29 October, 1901 in Puente Genil. In 1950, she moved to Barcelona with her partner. She never married her partner because her parents didn't approve of their relationship. They had three children, a son Antonio (1923-2005), daughter Ana Vela Rubio (born 1927) and another son who is currently living in Malaga, Juan (born 1930).
