Aldegundes Pereira de Castro (3 March 1903 – 10 October 2014) was a Brazilian supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).

Biography

Aldegundes Pereira de Castro claimed to have been born in Bahia, Brazil on 3 March 1903. Throughout his life, he rendered services to Santa Mariense society in the cultural, economic and religious areas for many years, serving in seven terms as councilor, when they were still unpaid. He had the initiative to draft bills, where he set the date June 26 as a holiday and birthday of Santa Maria da Vitoria and also projects that created the city's flag and coat of arms.

Aldegundes Pereira de Castro died in Santa Maria da Vitoria, Bahia, Brazil on 10 October 2014 at the age of 111 years, 221 days.
