Aída Gemaque Mendes (born 20 November 1909), known as Grandma Iaià, is a Brazilian supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).


Aida Gemaque Mendes claims to have been born in Chaves, Para, Brazil, on 20 November 1909. Her parents were Manoel Mendes Gemaque and Antonia de Oliveira Gemaque

In 2016, Aida Mendes became the oldest Olympic torchbearer ever. The previous record holder was Alexander Kaptarenko (1912-2014), who was 101 at the time when he participated as a torchbearer in the 2014 Sochi Olympics.
