Agnes Edith Helyar (née Greenwood; 19 September 1866 – 12 March 1976) was a British centenarian who was the oldest verified living person in the United Kingdom at the time of her death.
Biography
Helyar was born on 19 September 1866 to George Porter Greenwood (born 1832) and Elizabeth Anna Morgan (born 1839). She had four siblings, including Albert Edward. In 1891, she married Edward Purser Helyar (born 1865). On 24 December 1975, Helyar became the oldest living person in United Kingdom, following the death of Rose Heeley.
Helyar died in Abbots Langley, Hertfordshire, England, United Kingdom on 12 March 1976 at the age of 109 years, 175 days.
